Jaipur: 20-year-old Japanese tourist raped by man posing as tourist guide

Jaipur: A 20-year-old Japanese girl was allegedly raped by an Indian youth at a deserted place near Dudu, a suburban town in Jaipur, police said on Monday. AFP[/caption] The incident took place late last night and the victim has lodged an FIR with Dudu police station, the IG-Jaipur range D C Jain told PTI here. The victim had come to Pink city as a tourist on Sunday and was visiting Jal Mahal when a youth, about 25-year-old, lured her on the pretext of taking her sight-seeing, he said. “The incident occurred Sunday night. This woman was visiting tourist places in Jaipur when a person on a motorbike approached her and posing as a tourist guide offered to show her around. This guy took her to several tourist spots in the city and later to a secluded place where, according to her, he raped her,” DC Jain, Inspector General of Police, Jaipur range told IANS on Monday. She later reached the police station in Dudu and lodged a complaint. “We have registered a case of rape against unidentified person and started investigation,” Jain said. As the woman does not remember the name of the accused, police are getting his sketch prepared. A hunt to nab the accused is underway and detailed report of the incident was awaited, Jain added.
