Jaganmohan Reddy congratulates Venkaiah Naidu, says 'proud moment to see Telugu man as Vice-President-elect

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly YS Jaganmohan Reddy and several other leaders today congratulated Venkaiah Naidu on being elected as the Vice-President. “Congratulations to Sri @MVenkaiahNaidu Garu on being elected as the Vice-President of India. A very well-deserved victory indeed,” the chief minister said in a tweet.

YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy referred to Naidu’s Telugu identity. Venkaiah Naidu was born in Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. He said it is a proud moment to see a Telugu man as the (next) Chairman of the Upper House of Parliament. “The YSR Congress party wholeheartedly supported Venkaiah Naidu and it is a proud moment to see a Telugu man as Chairman of the Upper House,” he said in a statement. Deputy Chief Minister KE Krishna Murthy, finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and other ministers also congratulated Venkaiah Naidu on his victory. The NDA nominee was elected as the next Vice-President of India by securing over two-thirds of votes, leaving opposition candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi far behind.
