Israeli Ambassador to meet Krishna to discuss attack probe

New Delhi: Israeli Ambassador Alon Usphiz will meet External Affairs Minister SM Krishna to discuss the progress in investigations into the sticky bomb attack on an Israeli diplomat two days ago. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin said the Minister and the Ambassador will discuss during their meeting this evening the issue of the attack on the car of the Israeli official on Aurangazeb Road near Prime Minister’s residence on Monday. Tal Yehoshua(40), wife of a Israeli Defence Attache and herself a diplomat working in the mission, was critically injured in the explosion and underwent surgeries at the private Primus hospital for removal of splinters from her spine and liver. She was among the four persons wounded in the blast. Police are groping in the dark for clues in the case even as an extensive search for the attacker and a red motorcycle used by him were on. Police are looking into an attack on Iranian nuclear scientist last month for clues. Meanwhile, Iran today said it would neither accept nor deny Israeli allegation that it was behind the attack on its mission employee here and expressed hope that New Delhi will verify the case and clarify the real position. “We are not accepting or denying this,” Iranian Ambassador to India Mehdi Nabizadeh told reporters responding to allegations levelled by Israel that Iran was behind the magnetic bomb attack on its mission employee. Nabizadeh said the incident happened in India and the authorities here have to verify the case. “We hope that India to verify the case to know the real position. Till now, their final reaction has not come. We hope it will come,” he said. PTI
