A Russian first secretary in New Delhi allegedly rammed his vehicle into a motorcycle — injuring two people — and then assaulted an on-duty policeman, reports said. This is the second case in recent times where a
foreign diplomat found himself on the wrong side of the law in Delhi. IBNLive[/caption] At around 1.30 am on Wednesday in south Delhi’s Moti Bagh, Dmitry Kryukov, first secretary in the Russian Embassy, followed up his collision by attempting to ram his way out of a police barricade,
reports NDTV. Kryukov reportedly refused to exit his vehicle and began to argue with the cops, and then assaulted Naib Singh, a Delhi police constable. An ANI report quotes one of the motorcycle-riders as saying, “(Kryukov) _was so intoxicated that he could not control the car and he was practically unconscious… His car is so badly damaged and this is proof of how hard he rammed into the police barricad_e." The report adds that the diplomat was taken away by his friend, who had a long conversation with the police. While one of the bikers suffered minor injuries, the other was admitted to Aiims. Kryukov did not emerge unscathed either, suffering a bloodied nose. The police is reportedly in contact with the Russian Embassy about what steps can be taken with respect to the case.
