The 2018 International Women’s Day is being celebrated by an array of personalities world-over. From politicians to actors, sportspersons and everyone in between — people everywhere are celebrating the day of/for the woman. Closer to home, India's prime minister Narendra Modi also commemorated the day. Modi took to his Twitter account to celebrate 8 March through a series of tweets. Saying that several women had left an “indelible mark in the history of mankind” through their “exemplary deeds”, Modi then brought to light the work of Kunwar Bai, the mascot of his flagship Clean India mission, and paid tribute to her contributions to society, especially Chhattisgarh’s Kotabharri village. Modi also shared photographs and a video clip of him felicitating Kunwar Bai during a programme in the state two years ago. Using the hash tag #SheInspiresMe, the prime minister then went on to urge people to write about women who had inspired them during the course of their life.
Through their exemplary deeds, several women have left an indelible mark in the history of humankind. They continue to inspire generations. I urge you to write about some women who inspire you. #SheInspiresMe

Since then, several other notable personalities have taken to Twitter to talk about the women who have left an impact on them and inspired them in some way.
My mother used to always tell me never to compromise on human values and perform my duties with utmost honesty. She gave me the best lessons of life without herself having any formal education.
