Sheena Bora murder case: Indrani Mukherjea writes angry letter to Peter over his 'two-faced behaviour'

Indrani Mukherjea—the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case—has criticised her husband Peter Mukerjea in a letter for his “two-faced behaviour”, according to several media reports. PTI[/caption] In a four-page handwritten letter, Indrani channelled her anger towards Peter for ignoring her in public. In an excerpt from the letter carried by Midday, Indrani wrote: “While you have full-fledged conversations with me in the police van, very often, you pretend that we do not speak at all when we are in the presence of your relatives, acquaintances, lawyers and the media in court. I find your two-faced behaviour very disturbing, and it upsets me immensely every time you do this.” Indrani added she was in a “big mess” because of the “false” testimonies of Peter’s son Rahul Mukerjea, and their driver Shyamvar Rai.

According to a report in  India Today, Indrani wrote that Rai could be expected to have paid money to frame her or her former husband Sanjeev Khanna. “However, it amazes me that Rahul can be so unscrupulous that he doesn’t hesitate at all before lying and frames Sanjeev and me for a crime that he probably committed, or just to spite me,” she said.

She added that she received negative vibes from Peter whenever she saw him, but vowed to not let anything weaken her.  “I will not rest until Sheena and my parents’ souls rest in peace,” she said, according to the India Today report. Indrani approached a special CBI court in January to seek divorce from Peter, after the framing of charges in the murder case. However, there have been no reports of them reaching for a settlement or addressing the topic. Indrani and Khanna were arrested in August 2015 after Shyamvar Rai, arrested in another case, confessed to the Mumbai Police about Sheena Bora’s murder. Later, Indrani’s husband Peter, a former media tycoon, was also arrested. The CBI, which took over the probe, said in November 2015 that a  financial dispute was the reason for Indrani to hatch the conspiracy to murder her daughter.
