A Jaguar warplane of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Haryana’s Ambala on Friday.
The IAF said in a statement posted on X that the aircraft crashed during a routine training sortie after encountering system malfunction.
The IAF said the maneuvered the aircraft away from any habitation on ground and then ejected safely.
The Jaguar is a British-French close air support and ground attack aircraft. The IAF is the only known major air force to still use the aircraft first produced in late 1960s.
