Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that nine universities from the UK will open campuses in India. This comes during UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s visit, which Modi said shows a fresh boost in India-UK relations after their recent Free Trade Agreement.
Modi also shared that the Gurugram campus of Southampton University has already opened, and the first students have enrolled. The UK education delegation with Starmer is the largest so far.
Besides education, the UK will help train Indian Air Force flying instructors, Modi said.
He also announced plans to set up an Industry Guild and Supply Chain Observatory to work together on critical minerals. The observatory will have a satellite campus at the Indian School of Mines in Dhanbad.
Modi said these steps show that both countries want to grow and work together for a stable future.
