New Delhi: The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in India climbed to 73.07 lakh on Thursday after 67,735 fresh infections were registered in the past 24 hours, said the Union Health Ministry. The national COVID-19 recovery rate stood at 87.35 percent as of Thursday with 63,83,441 patients being cured of the viral infection. India’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 73,07,097 and the toll climbed to 1,11,266 after the death of 680 more people in a span of 24 hours, according to the data updated at 8 am. The COVID-19 case fatality rate has further declined to 1.52 percent. There are 8,12,390 active cases of coronavirus in the country which comprises 11.11 percent of the total caseload, the data stated. According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 9,12,26,305 samples have been tested up to 14 October. At least 11,36,183 samples were tested on Wednesday alone.
