The Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of Indian and Pakistani armies have discussed the ceasefire violations over a hotline, sources told ANI.
Sources said that Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai discussed the situation with his Pakistani counterpart.
“Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan talked over hotline yesterday to discuss the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistan. India warned Pakistan against the unprovoked violations by Pakistan Army along the Line of Control,” said sources.
Notably, Pakistan has put Simla Agreement with India in abeyance, which has formed the basis of the ceasefire agreements of 2003 and 2021. With Simla agreement in abeyance, the ceasefire agreements emanating from it are in abeyance as well.
Since the Pahalgam attack in which terrorists killed 26 people, Pakistan forces have violated the ceasefire along the border. India has blamed Pakistan for the attack. The police have said that at least two of the attackers involved are from Pakistan.
For the past six days, Pakistan has violated the ceasefire every night in the border along the Line of Kashmir (LoC) as well as the International Border (IB).
In the latest instance, Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing along the LoC and International Border in multiple sectors across four border districts of Jammu and Kashmir, officials told PTI earlier in the day.
