The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has released the time table for ISC (Class 12) and ICSE (Class 10) board exam 2019. The exams for Class 12 will begin from 4 February, 2019 and end on 25 March, 2019. It will begin with the practical exams which are scheduled from 4-14 February, 2019. The theory part will start with economics paper on 15 February, 2019. The Class 10 exams will begin from 22 February, 2019 and conclude on 25 March, 2019. It will start with the English Language paper 1 and end with Biology Science paper 3. The Class 10 exams will start four days earlier this time. It had begun on 26 February in 2018. The timetables for both sets of exam are available on the CISCE’s official website @cisce.org .
The examinations will start in two different timings – from 9 am and 11 am – and held in three various durations – 2 hours, 2 and half hours and 3 hours.
The ICSE date sheet also states that in addition to the time indicated for writing the paper, 15 minutes extra will be given for reading the question paper. The question paper may be distributed to candidates at 10.45 am to enable them to start writing at 11 am.
The CISCE had recently announced that it will give unsuccessful candidates a second chance to pass the examination in the same year, from 2019.
CISCE secretary Gerry Arathoon told NDTV that compartmental exams will be held for ISC candidates having failed in the fourth subject and ICSE candidates in the fifth subject, in the same year, shortly after publication of the respective board results. These candidates can sit for the supplementary (compartmental) test in June-July. The results of the compartmental exam will be published by August to enable successful students to enroll for higher studies.
