IAF Marshal Arjan Singh's demise is national loss, says former defence minister AK Antony

New Delhi: Former defence minister AK Antony on Saturday condoled the demise of marshal of the Indian Air Force (IAF) Arjan Singh as a national loss and said that he was an inspiration for the entire armed forces.

"Cannot compare his bravery with any of the warriors. It's a national loss. He was very experienced, dedicated and a legend of Indian Air Force," Antony said.

Arjan Singh breathed his last at the army hospital on Saturday evening following cardiac arrest. He was 98.

Antony said that Arjan Singh's compassion for the entire armed forces was invaluable.

"He contributed a lot for the benefit of entire armed forces. He was an inspiration for the entire force. I salute to the great warrior of our country," he said.

He said that Arjan Singh until his death acted as marshal of Indian Air Force.

"He never showed physical weakness in any of the official functions. He was one of the greatest Indian I have personal contacts," Antony said.
