Mumbai: An Indian Air Force (IAF) MI-17 helicopter made an emergency landing on a ground in the congested central business district of Bandra-Kurla Complex here on Wednesday afternoon, officials said. The chopper was on a routine training sortie. It suddenly experienced some technical problems, compelling it to make the landing at the MMRDA ground, the heart of a civilian suburb. “The helicopter carried out a precautionary landing. All crew and the chopper are safe,” an official said, adding that the chopper was scheduled to land at the IAF base in Colaba, south Mumbai.
