Muzaffarnagar: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Muzaffarnagar by 8 youths, including her friend, who also made a video of the act and uploaded it on social networking site Facebook, police said on Tuesday. AFP[/caption] The victim in a complaint on Tuesday said that in August last year, she went for a lunch with her friend. They were intercepted by four youths near Basdhada village who took her to a secluded place, where three persons were already present, police said. She alleged that five persons gang-raped her while three others recorded the act on a camera. The accused threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about the incident, they said. According to police, the victim did not register a complaint fearing that the accused would upload the video on internet. She, however, approached police after the accused published the recording on Facebook. SSP HN Singh said, “a case was registered under section 376 (2g) (gangrape) of IPC and 67 of IT Act (publishing obscene material in electronic form) against eight accused: Rashid, Wasik, Abdul Rehman, Shokan, Abul, Monu, Rahul and Salau.” Police have arrested four persons Rashid, Wasik, Abdul Rehman and Shokan in connection with the case. A manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding accused. PTI
