BJP MP RK Singh Patel was the person who caught hold of one of the two culprits behind the Parliament security breach. Talking to News18, Patel said, “While we were on our way out I saw a security personnel grappling with one of the perpetrators. I lunged towards him and brought him down by his neck after which several other MPs arrived at the scene. The perpetrator tried to smother us with the smoke canister he was holding.” The Lok Sabha on Wednesday was adjourned till 2 pm after two individuals jumped from the visitor’s gallery and burst smoke canister inside the house. Both of them have been detained by police. The incident came on the 22nd anniversary of the Parliament attack of 2001.
