An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed on Thursday, shortly after taking off from Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the afternoon.
The airline confirmed the incident and said that passengers who sustained injuries are being moved to nearby hospitals for treatment. Rescue efforts are ongoing, and Air India is extending full cooperation to the authorities conducting the investigation.
The London-bound flight went down in the Meghani area of the city, sparking a major emergency response as thick black smoke rose from the crash site.
