New Delhi: Rajya Sabha member and senior JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav on Tuesday sought a court-monitored probe into the murder of a Gurugram school boy and also asked the Union government to set up a commission to end “double education” policy governing schools. AFP[/caption] Yadav met the parents of the seven-year-old boy, who was found murdered inside Gurugram-based Ryan International School, at their residence and pitched for an overall review of school education policy. He said private schools have flourished under political protection and claimed that the management of the private school under the scanner in the murder case has had links with different political parties. “The agenda of many private schools is business. They defy all norms and breed discrimination in society. I demand that the government set up a commission to put an end to this double education policy governing our schools,” he said. Expressing his deep sympathies with the parents, Varun and Jyoti Thakur, he said they have sought a fair probe. “There should be a court-monitored probe,” he said. Another member of Parliament from Bihar, Pappu Yadav, who had met the victim’s parents- who hail from the same state- recently, echoed similar views and said recommendations of Kothari commission should be implemented. He accused private schools of “profiteering” and asked the government to come out with regulations to check them.
