External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar called on the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis in New Delhi on Wednesday. The Greek leader is on a state visit to India and will be attending the ninth edition of the Raisina Dialogue that begins on 21 February. He will join the inauguration session as the chief guest.
“Valued his commitment to enhancing India-Greece ties. Look forward to the strengthening of our strategic partnership,” said Jaishankar in a post on X, along with the picture of his meeting with the Greece PM.
Mitsotakis is on a two-day state visit to India, 21 and 22 February, and is accompanied by senior officials as well as a high-powered business delegation.

On Tuesday, EAM Jaishankar met the foreign minister of Greece, Giorgos Gerapetritis, who is also in India’s capital for the Raisina Dialogue 2024. Both the leaders discussed the strengthening of India-Greece and India-Europe cooperation.

The India-Greece ties are based on shared cultural values, a commitment to foster economic growth, and collaboration in the fields of security and defence, shipping, and maritime, and are marked by convergence on regional and global issues. The two countries have also been cooperating closely in various multilateral forums.
What is Raisina Dialogue?
The Raisina Dialogue is an annual conference on geopolitics and geoeconomics. During the Dialogue, sessions are conducted focusing on addressing the most challenging issues faced by the world.
The conference takes place in New Delhi and is attended by people from political, business, media, and civil society backgrounds.
The conference is hosted by the Delhi-based think tank Observer Research Foundation, in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs.
Raisina Dialogue Dates
The Raisina Dialogue will be held till 23 February 2024 (Friday). The theme for this year’s edition is “Chaturanga: Conflict, Contest, Cooperate, Create."
More than 2,500 participants from around 115 countries will be joining the conference in person.
The participants include ministers, former prime ministers and presidents, military commanders, technology leaders, academics, journalists, scholars on strategic affairs, and experts from leading think tanks.
The Raisina Dialogue is expected to be viewed by millions across the globe on various digital platforms.
