Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday responded to the sudden resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, offering his best wishes and appreciating Dhankhar’s years of dedicated service to the country.
“Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji has got many opportunities to serve our country in various capacities, including as the Vice President of India. Wishing him good health,” the Prime Minister said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

In his letter, Dhankhar stated, “In order to prioritise my health and follow medical advice, I resign from the office of Vice President of India with immediate effect, under Article 67(a) of the Constitution.”
