Gorakhpur tragedy: CPI leader D Raja targets BJP-RSS over 'murder of innocents'

New Delhi: Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D Raja on Monday termed the loss of lives in a state-run hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur as a murder of innocent lives and said the state government should be ashamed of the tragedy. What kind of freedom are we celebrating if we cannot even provide basic medical facilities at government hospitals?” he asked. Raja was speaking at an event organised by the National Federation of Indian Women (NFIW) to mark 70 years of India’s Independence and highlight the struggles faced by the citizens. “Our country needs to unite and stand up against RSS-BJPs’ fascism. This is the biggest challenge that we are facing today. We need to stop the dictatorial attitude of the party in power; liberate India from the RSS and fight against their ideologies,” he said.
