PTI[/caption] Umesh Goankar, North Goa superintendent of police told Times of India that the motive behind taking these two women was to recover the money that the relative of the accused had lost. According to him, one of the accused Ajay Kumar Busba’s cousin Mahinder Singh had gotten in touch with a pimp called Manoj through a website and asked him for escorts when he had come to Goa from USA in February. He was then sent three girls to a pre-decided place, after which Singh chose a woman and took her to a hotel. After checking-in, the escort however left, citing some problems and after she had left Singh realised that she had stolen his iPhone and Rs 1 lakh. After his cousin returned, Kusba had been trying to get hold of the girls and Manoj. Eventually he got hold of Manoj, who promised that he would return the money, but stopped responding to calls thereafter. It was this that led him to hatch the plan of kidnapping the girls to recover money and asked his friend Sameer to hire the girls. As of now, police have arrested Ajay Kumar Kusba, Nadeem Khan, Jeevan Pawar, Kamesh Chowdhury and Trebor Joseph. (With agency inputs)
