On his maiden visit to India as UK PM, Rishi Sunak along with his wife Akshata Murty arrived in Delhi on Friday and after the finishing the official meet-ups, the couple reportedly went to a quiet dinner. According to reports, Sunak initially planned to have a meeting with Prime Minister Modi at his official residence in central Delhi on Friday afternoon. However, the meeting was canceled early on. Instead, Prime Minister Modi hosted a dinner at his residence for United States President Joe Biden on Friday evening. Another arrangement for Sunak and Murty on Friday evening had to be canceled due to extensive traffic restrictions. Unable to proceed with any other plans, they chose to have a private dinner in Lutyens’ Delhi. The couple is currently staying at the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel and walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner on Friday night. According to The Indian Express, the couple dined at the Imperial hotel. A photo captured them walking together, with Sunak wearing a white shirt without a blazer, and Murty donning a white T-shirt paired with white and pink striped trousers. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the G20 Summit on Saturday by expressing condolences and solidarity for those affected by the earthquake in Morocco. He pledged to “strengthen global trust and promote more reliable relationships.” Prime Minister Modi welcomed several world leaders, including United States President Joe Biden and United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, at the Bharat Mandapam, the G20 Summit venue, on Saturday morning. The leaders walked down a red carpet adorned with national flags, and the walls displayed various yoga poses. Modi greeted the world leaders with warm handshakes.
