As the 18th G20 Summit kicked off in New Delhi, Police of the national capital is on high alert in the national capital, Special CP, Law and Order, Dependra Pathak said on Saturday. On security arrangements during G 20 Summit, Pathak said, “Delhi Police has been preparing for months and today is the D-day…Delhi Police is alert…From constable to seniormost officer, we all are on the ground…We are working with a high standard of alertness…We are also getting co-operation from citizens of Delhi…Delhi Police has once again set an example of professional excellence..”

Delhi Police also conducted boat patrolling in river Yamuna from Geeta Colony Ghat to ITO bridge in the country’s capital city as a security measure for the high-profile summit.

On security arrangements near Jama Masjid during G 20 Summit, Special CP, Law and Order, Dependra Pathak said,"…There is strategic and enough deployment (of Police)…The situation is peaceful and under control…We will continue to maintain this…" The largest-ever multilateral event is witnessing participation of several heads of states and delegates. Meanwhile, the office of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena informed through a release that he will keep a close tab of the security situation in the city from the Raj Niwas. “He (L-G) will be in constant touch with the Command Room of the state-to-art Control Room of the Delhi Police Headquarters on September 9,” read the statement from Raj Niwas. India hosting G20 Summit for the first time This is the first time that the G20 Summit is being hosted by India. The countries taking part in the G20 Summit include Nigeria, Argentina, Italy, the AU (represented by Comros), and South Africa. Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Japan Saudi Arabia, the Republic of Korea, Egypt, Australia, the United States, Canada, China, Russia, the U.A.E., Brazil, Indonesia, Turkey Spain, Germany, France, Mexico, the European Union, and Singapore.
