Marking the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 11 years in office, the NaMo App has launched a nationwide feedback exercise titled the ‘Jan Man Survey’.

Announced by the Prime Minister on the social media platform X, the survey has seen a remarkable response, with more than five lakh citizens participating within just 26 hours of its launch. Designed as an interactive platform for public engagement, the survey invites people to share their views on a wide range of issues, from national security and digital governance to youth development and cultural pride.

The Jan Man Survey is part of a broader push by the Modi government to involve citizens more actively in the democratic process. By enabling people to directly express their views on government initiatives and national priorities, the survey aims to make policymaking more responsive and inclusive.

It is accessible through multiple channels on the NaMo App, including a prominent banner on the homepage and a dedicated section under the “11 Years of Seva” module, which showcases the key achievements of the government over the past decade.

The response to the survey has been both swift and widespread. Uttar Pradesh has recorded the highest number of submissions, with over 1.4 lakh people participating, followed by Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Haryana. According to preliminary data, a striking 77 percent of respondents completed the full survey, underscoring the public’s keen interest in contributing to the national conversation.

The questionnaire itself is comprehensive, covering 15 themes that reflect the government’s areas of focus over the past 11 years. Citizens are asked to share their views on how India’s approach to counter-terrorism has evolved, how secure they feel in light of national security measures and whether India’s voice is more respected on the global stage.

Other questions seek feedback on digital services used under the Digital India initiative, the effectiveness of schemes like Skill India and Startup India and the tangible impact of infrastructure development on people’s daily lives.

The survey also touches on social themes such as women-led development with questions aimed at understanding public perception of improvements in this area. Respondents are invited to evaluate how connected they feel to India’s cultural heritage, the responsiveness of elected representatives and how aligned current progress is with their vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.

The survey also asks citizens to reflect on their sense of involvement and inspiration in contributing to the country’s development journey. In launching the Jan Man Survey, the NaMo App has not only facilitated a large-scale data collection exercise but also deepened the government’s outreach to citizens through a tech-enabled, participatory model.

With Phase I of the initiative already yielding a wealth of insights, the survey is expected to continue drawing responses from across the country in the days to come.
