New Delhi: A four-storey building collapsed in Inderlok area in North Delhi this morning. Seven people have been killed in this mishap, according to CNN-IBN.
While around 10 people have been rescued from the debris, some other persons are believed to be trapped under the debris.
"The building was around 50 year old and a number of families lived there. 8 to 10 people have been rescued from the debris so far. Search and rescue operations are on.Some more may be trapped in the rubble although the number cannot be ascertained as of now," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Madhur Verma.
According to fire officials, they got a call at around 9 am about a building collapsing at Tulsi Nagar in Inderlok, following which four fire tenders were rushed to the spot for the rescue operations.
The incident took place in a congested locality and seems to have been caused by construction work on an adjacent plot, a fire official said.
