A fire broke out in a building in Sector 30A near Vashi railway station in Navi Mumbai. According to ANI, the fire in Arunachal Bhavan building is now under control and further extinguishing operations are on. The fire broke out on the top floor of the 10-storey structure. A report in Times Now said that the fire control room in Navi Mumbai has alerted all fire stations to be on alert for the incident.
Times Now said the authorities were finding it challenging to reach the tall structure which is situated in an IT park. It also said that this is the third time that a fire has hit Navi Mumbai in the last week, suggesting that it’s a recurring issue in the area, which has a large proportion of glass-fronted buildings. According to DNA, the building was still under construction. It took one fire engine to douse the flames and no injuries have been reported so far. “So far, there is no injury reported. And we have vacated the building,” an NMMC fire department official told DNA. The official also added that as a precaution, they have vacated nearby buildings, which mainly house IT software offices. The cause of the fire is yet to be discovered.
