Ten fire tenders are present at Mechemco Resins Pvt Ltd’s factory in Navi Mumbai’s Turbhe to douse a massive fire which broke out on Tuesday morning, media reports said. The rescue operation is in progress, DNA reported, and no case of injury has been reported so far. According to reports, the blaze started around 11 am at the factory located at the TTC Industrial Area of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). A thick layer of smoke engulfed the surrounding areas after the incident.

The company manufactures unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins, gel coats, and adhesives. It is likely to take two to three hours for the fire to be doused, after which the officials will investigate the reason for the cause, India Today reported. However, The Times of India said that the fire was reportedly caused due to a spark while welding work for renovation was in progress and that the fire, which was reported around 10.45 am, was brought under control at 1 pm.
