Fire breaks out in Mumbai high-rise

Mumbai: A major fire broke out on the 15th floor of a multi-storey building at Parel area of Central Mumbai today, with several people stuck on the terrace, officials said. PTI [/caption] “We have been informed of a major fire at 20-storey Naman Midtown building in Parel area and have rushed four fire tenders to the spot. We have also sent two snorkels to evacuate people stuck in the high-rise,” an MCGM (Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai) official told PTI. The official said that as per initial reports, several people are stuck on the terrace of the commercial building while people on the lower floors have been evacuated. “We are trying to ascertain the number of people injured in the fire, though we have not received reports of any casualties as yet,” the official said.
