Fed up of being ragged in college, engineering student commits suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: An engineering student of a college in Chennai committed suicide due to ragging by seniors, police said. Krishna Chaitanya on Friday night hanged himself from a ceiling fan in his house at Allapur society in Kukatpally town of Hyderabad, the police said. Reuters[/caption] The 19-year-old’s parents grew suspicious and broke the door of his room when he did not come out for a long time. Chaitanya was a second year student of Sathyabama Engineering College in Chennai. He came home for Diwali vacation. In the suicide note recovered by the police, he said that ragging by his seniors forced him to take the extreme step. Chaitanya said some students of third year were harassing him. IANS
