The ‘fake’ IAS officer, Ruby Chaudhry, who was caught staying at LBSNAA in Mussoorie for 6 months with a fake ID card, and who later accused Deputy Director Saurabh Jain, of National Academy of Administration of selling it to her for Rs five lakh, has been arrested. According to this report by Deccan Chronicle, a case of cheating, forgery and impersonating a public servant has been registered against Chaudhry. However she still claims that Jain facilitated her stay and she should not be held responsible. _Firstpost_ had earlier reported that Chaudhry had said deputy director Saurabh Jain knew she was not an IAS probationer. She also told media persons that Jain facilitated her gate pass to the academy. [caption id=“attachment_2183285” align=“alignleft” width=“380” class=" “] The Mussoorie academy. They also visited Chaudhry’s native Kutba-Kutbi village in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh to record statements of her family members. All the documentary records seized from the woman as well as the video recording, photographic and CCTV footage related to the incident has been handed over to the SIT for investigation, it said in a statement issued by the Joint Director of the Academy D Nariala, as reported by IBN Live. “There is a collective attempt to protect Jain who was Uttarkashi District Magistrate in the past and also perhaps held an important position in Dehradun. Ministers and cops have all become one to shield him.” “After all why has he not been questioned so far? If he (Jain) is not wrong why doesn’t he have the guts to come out in the open?” Chaudhry was quoted as saying in this Zee News report, adding, “I am in deep depression. I have lost my ties with my family and in-laws. If I don’t get justice, I will have no choice but to commit suicide.” Completely refuting Chaudhry’s claims, Saurab Jain said in this report by Hindustan Times, “The allegation that I promised her to get a job in the library on the consideration of Rs.20 lakh is totally baseless and I strongly refute it. I am in no way concerned with the working of the academy library,” “At that time, I was not aware about the name or the antecedents of this lady and only came to know her name when an FIR was filed against her,” he added.
