 "Facing harassment, female passenger seeks help on Twitter, Railway Ministry comes to the rescue")
On 26 November, a woman travelling alone on a outstation bound train in Maharashtra took to twitter to seek help in a harassment related issue. The woman tweeted:
NDTV reported that a senior officer, Ved Prakash took notice of the tweet and told the Central Railway chief PRO, Narendra Patil to help the woman. Patil also replied to her tweet, seeking information about the train and she was also asked to contact the security helpline number 182. The Railway Ministry’s twitter account responded:

Patil is quoted in the website as saying, “the man had a wait-listed ticket and his behaviour and body language did not seem to be decent and since Mahajan was travelling alone, she felt terrified.” The Times of India reported that as the train reached Bhusaval, she was helped by RPF Jawans. The male passenger was moved to another coach as he had a valid ticket to travel on the train.
