Every Bihari is brand ambassador, no proposal to appoint Bollywood stars: Nitish Kumar

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said there was no proposal to appoint Bollywood stars like Shatrughan Sinha, Rekha or Manoj Bajpai as brand ambassador of the state. Reuters[/caption] The Chief Minister also said every citizen is a brand ambassador. “I read such things (considering Shatrughan Sinha, Rekha or Manoj Bajpai) in news papers only as brand ambassador of Bihar. But, there is no such proposal before the government,” Kumar told reporters during his “Janata ke Darbar me Mukhya Mantri” programme. “For me every Bihari going out of the state is a brand ambassador of the state to tell the turn around story of the state to the people,” the CM said. “The citizens who are themselves witness to the progress taking place in the state are the best brand ambassador. We do not need others for this,” he added. Media reports had suggested chances of appointing actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha as brand ambassador of Bihar on the lines mega star Amitabh Bachchan was appointed to promote Gujarat. News items had also hinted chances of Bollywood actress Rekha and even star Manoj Bajpai as brand ambassador of Bihar. Shatrughan Sinha, second term BJP MP from Patna Sahib, and Manoj Bajpai, born in Bihar, had said though there was no official word to them about proposal for appointment as brand ambassador of Bihar, if asked, they would love to serve their mother state.
