What’s the first thing you think of when you see the words ‘Engineers day’? Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya , whose birth anniversary marks the occasion? Technology? Science? Unemployment?
If your line of thought was more like the last statement, then you weren’t really in the minority! As we mark the 48th Engineers Day celebrations in India, social media enthusiasts had their own special way of commemorating the occasion.
The Twitterati lived up to its satirical, sardonic reputation with jabs at engineers out there. From the skewed sex ratio in engineering, the infamous field-hopping and even the difficulty to clinch a job, no stone was left unturned in ‘celebrating’ Engineer’s Day. Hey, they weren’t laughing at the engineers, they were laughing with them!
The first question that everyone had was this.
Why doesn't the #EngineersDay hashtag start with Happy? 😂

Like engineers opting for sustainable construction, Twitter users opted to recycle some jokes too.

Tweeted this in 2011. Been recycling it ever since...https://t.co/0ImuCwhdvo
Our engineering buddies might even be too busy to see these tweets in their honour.
But if they do celebrate, it might end up looking like this.

Remember the field-hopping that we mentioned? MBA’s might just top the list.

Or maybe this.
But engineers have a way with building their way to solutions. There is no issue that an engineer doesn’t have a jugaad for!

But there are some problems that engineers might just have to live with.

But they might even find the right code for these problems too!
It sure is an ‘incredible’ feeling to be an engineer, despite the difficulties!
