Vaishnaw told ANI “Just about nine years back electronics manufacturing was negligible in the country. Mobile manufacturing was practically not there, almost 98 per cent of mobile phones that we used were imported. In a short time span of nine years, our PM Modi’s vision of ‘Digital India’, ‘Make in India’ and ‘Startup India’ this bouquet of programs has established India as a trusted value chain partner.”

Expressing his happiness about Google’s announcement, Vaishnaw said, “Practically every big electronics manufacturer is setting up its design in India.“He further emphasized that domestic manufacturers in the country are also scaling up.

“This is a very big achievement because getting the big manufacturers to set up their base in India means the entire ecosystem has now matured. People have developed their trust. Our own domestic manufacturers are scaling up,” Vaishnaw said.
