Eastern military commanders discuss joint utilisation of resources

Kolkata: Military commanders of all the tri-services of defence today reviewed operational, training and logistics issues to ensure optimum and joint utilisation by all three services. During a Tri-Services Conference at Trishakti Corps at Sukna in Jalpaiguri district, joint training activities in common areas to optimise resource utilisation, for better integration as also to achieve inter-operability between participating forces was discussed, a Defence communique said in Kolkata.[caption id=“attachment_1719301” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Representational image. Lt Gen MMS Rai, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Command, Air Marshal RK Jolly, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command and Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Eastern Naval Command took part in the proceedings. The conference also deliberated upon enhanced interaction at all levels on regular basis to update and refine joint plans so as to promote joint man-ship and achieve operational synergy, the communique said. A review of usage of infrastructural facilities to ensure optimum and joint utilisation by all three services was also carried out. PTI
