DUSU election results out amid charges of EVM malfunctioning
The results for the four positions of the DUSU were announced despite allegations of EVM malfunctioning. Sixteen candidates, including four women, were in the fray and 52 polling centres were set up for the voting process.
Over 1.3 lakh students were eligible to cast their vote. As many as 144 EVMs were used for students’ union polls and 137 were used for college union polls.
DUSU results an indication of political mood in India: Dharmendra Pradhan
Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan congratulated the ABVP winners and the “youth brigade” of the organisation for “sweeping” the DUSU election. He claimed that the results were “an indication of the political mood in the country”. “Nationalistic ideologies and ethos of ABVP have made it a natural choice for the youth,” he said.

NSUI’s wins Ashish Lamba secretary’s post by 2,053 votes
Ashish Lamba of the National Students Union of India bagged the secretary’s post defeating Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s Yogi Rathee by a margin of 2,053 votes.
ABVP wins vice president and joint secretary posts by margin of 8,574 and 2,914 votes respectively
The posts of vice president and joint secretary were won by RSS-affiliated ABVP’s Pradeep Tanwar and Shivangi Kharwal by a margin of 8,574 and 2,914 votes respectively.

DUSU 2019 polls sees 39.9 percent voter turnout
As of Thursday, the DUSU election saw a voter turnout of 39.9 percent, over four notches down from 2018, when a 44.46 percent voter turnout was recorded. Hot and humid weather, holidays in colleges and disenchantment of students with the politics were cited as reasons for the lower turnout.
NSUI wins the Secretary post
While the top three posts have been bagged by ABVP, the Congress-affiliated NSUI won the post of Secretary. According to the initial trends, after the counting of votes from 45 EVMs, the ABVP was leading in all four seats.

Of the four posts in Delhi University Student Polls, results of three posts have been announced and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has won for the positions president, vice president and joint secretary seats.
Counting of votes delayed by two hours
The counting for DUSU elections which was supposed to begin at 8.30 am was delayed by two hours as the candidates turned up late, an official said.
