The Sahar police have registered a case against an unidentified person who stole diamonds worth Rs 4.5 crore from a courier consignment at the Mumbai airport. The complainant then approached us and we registered a complaint of theft on May 17,” a senior inspector with Sahar police station told the Indian Express. The police have initiated a probe against the suspect. They are also conducting inquiries with the loaders in the cargo area of the airport, and courier company employees who visit the cargo area to pick their consignments. A Times of India report says that the Sahar police had already detained a suspect, but the officers declined to confirm this development.
