India on Friday dismissed Pakistan’s allegations that the Indian armed forces had targeted its own cities and religious sites, calling the claims “preposterous” and part of a deliberate disinformation campaign aimed at inciting communal tensions.

Addressing the press conference on Friday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri condemned Pakistan’s narrative following its failed drone and missile attack on multiple Indian cities on Thursday night.

“Instead of owning up to its actions, Pakistan made the preposterous and outrageous claims that it is the Indian armed forces that are targeting its own cities like Amritsar and trying to blame Pakistan,” Misri said.

He said that such tactics were not new, pointing to Pakistan’s past behavior.

“They are well-versed in such actions, as their history would show,” he added.

Misri also dismissed Pakistan’s claim that India had targeted the Nankana Sahib Gurdwara in Pakistan using a drone, calling it a “blatant lie.”

“Pakistan is trying desperately to impart a communal hue to the situation with an intention to create a communal discord…,” he warned, urging the international community to see through what he described as Islamabad’s malicious propaganda.
