31-year-old Singh was shot at five days ago in Burj Jawahar Singh Wala in Faridkot district on 13 June and died in DMC hospital in Ludhiana on Friday. Dera Committee member Mohinder Pal said the administration offered government job to the wife of deceased and assured to arrest the accused soon.

However, he refuted reports that Singh’s family was given cash compensation. The decision to cremate the body came after a meeting by the civil and police officers with Dera committee members and victim’s family. On Sunday, Dera Sacha Sauda followers refused to cremate the body of a sect member until the accused were arrested.
