Delhi woman shot dead because accused wanted to marry her friend

Police have said that a 25-year-old woman was shot dead at a South Delhi bus stop because of ‘personal animosity. The victim identified as Pooja, a resident of Bhajanpura in east Delhi, was standing near the Sarai Kale Khan inter-state bus terminal in south Delhi when she was shot Sunday night. She was taken to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where she died of bullet injuries. [caption id=“attachment_638247” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]  Representational image of Delhi police: AFP[/caption] Police sources said Monday that she was murdered by a man called Munshi Yadav, who was allegedly upset with her as she was creating problems in his relationship with her friend Kiran. “Munshi Yadav, who murdered the woman, wanted to marry her friend Kiran. He said Pooja was creating hurdles in the relationship, which had led to arguments several times,” a police official said. According to police, Pooja had a loud argument with Yadav, after which he shot her. Yadav, and another man named Rehman who accompanied him, were apprehended by by-standers and taken to the police.
