The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested four more prime suspects in connection with the 10 November blast near the Red Fort in Delhi, which claimed at least 15 lives and injured several others.

With these arrests, the total number of accused in the case has now risen to six, the agency said in an official statement.

Three of the newly arrested suspects are doctors, while the fourth is a religious preacher. The Patiala House Court granted custody of the accused to the NIA, which took them into custody in Srinagar. “All four played a key role in the terror attack that killed several innocent persons and left many others injured,” the agency added.

The accused have been identified as Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganai from Pulwama (J&K), Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather from Anantnag (J&K), Dr Shaheen Saeed from Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), and Mufti Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian (J&K). Earlier, the NIA had arrested Amir Rashid Ali and Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, both of whom were linked to the explosives-laden i20 used in the blast and the attempted recruitment of a potential suicide bomber.

According to the NIA, these individuals are at the centre of an alleged ‘white-collar’ terror module, which was dismantled by the Jammu and Kashmir police in coordination with authorities in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. During the investigation, a major lead emerged from Al Falah University in Faridabad, where authorities recovered 2,900 kg of explosives, raising alarm about the scale of the terror network.

State prosecutors highlighted that the blast was meticulously planned, with a combination of local and cross-border operatives. The arrested individuals are being interrogated to identify all links and uncover the broader conspiracy behind the attack.

On Tuesday, a special NIA court at Patiala House remanded Jasir Bilal Wani to 10 days of NIA custody. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandana approved the remand following a closed-court hearing.

The NIA, which formally took over the investigation on November 11, continues to explore multiple angles in the case, including financing, recruitment, and logistical support for the terror module .
