New Delhi: A group of people, including retired army generals, ambassadors and judges, met Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday and sought his intervention to bring back normalcy in riot-affected areas in West Bengal. PTI[/caption] Chander Wadhwa, a council member of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants of India and among those who met Singh, said the violence in the state targeted Hindus. The delegation included Justice (retd) SN Dhingra, former Delhi commissioner of police RS Gupta, former Sikkim DGP RK Handa, Maj. Gen. (retd) Dhruv Katoch and former ambassador Vidyasagar Verma. They asked Rajnath to take appropriate action for quelling the violence. The group accused the state government of suppressing information and said it was only through social media that people got to know about the violence.
