Dabholkar murder: CBI gets nod to conduct lie-detector test

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday got permission to conduct a lie-detector test on two Sanatan Sanstha members-Hemant Shinde and Nilesh Shinde - in connection with the murder case of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar. The agency, which is probing the case, had sought permission from a Pune court, which gave its nod. [caption id=“attachment_2631558” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Narendra Dabholkar. File photo. Dabholkar was shot dead by unknown assailants in Pune on August 20, 2013. The Sanstha had claimed that CBI was “falsely implicating” its seekers – Hemant Shinde, Nilesh Shinde, Niraj Yengul, Mahendra Sahasrabudhhe, Yashavant Sahasrabudhhe and Krushna Kumbhar. The Bombay High Court had transferred the probe to CBI on 9 May, 2014 on a PIL filed by former journalist Ketan Tirodkar on the plea that there was no headway several months after the killing of the eminent rationalist.
