New Delhi: CRPF has opened a new skill development centre for hundreds of its troopers injured while encountering Naxals and insurgents, as part of its initiative to rehabilitate its men and their families.

The centre will be run in collaboration with HCL Foundation under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) wing and will have trainers drawn from the paramilitary and general experts to train troops injured in operations for skills in computers and a host of other trades which will help them sustain their lives, a senior official said.

The centre, the official said, will also serve to work for the families of martyred or injured soldiers who want to take up some vocational work in order to sustain a livelihood for themselves.
