A special CBI court has issued a non-bailable warrant against Nupur Talwar, facing trial for the murder of her daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, for failing to appear before it. The next hearing of the case will take place on 18 April. Screen grab from CNN-IBN”]  [/caption] The CBI had sought a warrant be issued against the doctor since she had failed to appear before the court today in which the trial is taking place. The Talwar’s legal counsel had argued that an appeal was pending before the Supreme Court and the warrant did not need to be issued. Rajesh Talwar, Aarushi’s father, was present in court today. The warrant could be executed any time until the next hearing of the court and Nupur can be arrested by the police before 18 April. Nupur Talwar has sought a review of the Supreme Court decision which directed her and Rajesh to face trial in the case. The petition will be heard by the court on 27 April. Rajesh and his wife Nupur have been accused by the CBI of being involved in the murder of their teenaged daughter Aarushi in May 2008. Aarushi was found murdered inside her Noida residence on 13 May, 2008 and the body of the Talwars’ domestic help Hemraj was found a day later on the terrace of the house. The Uttar Pradesh police had initially accused Rajesh of the murder but after the case was handed over to the CBI, the dentist was granted bail. Following that three others were also arrested by the CBI but granted bail and released from jail. After failing to find any conclusive evidence the CBI had filed a closure report but the court had asked them to pursue the case against the murdered girl’s parents.The CBI had moved the Allahabad High Court seeking cancellation of Talwar’s bail.
A special CBI court has issued a non-bailable warrant against the doctor for failure to appear before it. The court is presently conducting the trial in the Aarushi double murder case in which Nupur and her husband Rajesh are accused.
