Court extends bail for Rajesh Talwar in Aarushi case

The Sessions court in Ghaziabad on Wednesday, extended the bail of Dr Rajesh Talwar and has asked his wife Nupur to appear in the court within 30 days, in the Aarushi Talwar-Hemraj double murder case. Taking cognisance of the Supreme Court order, the court rejected the Central Bureau of Investigation’s plea of taking Aarushi’s father into custody. The CBI on Wednesday had asked for cancellation of the bail of Dr Rajesh Talwar and had asked for judicial custody of his wife Nupur. Talwar’s lawyer told the court that he has been granted bail by the Supreme Court. The CBI had told the court that the agency wanted the bail to be cancelled as it was conditional and so Dr Rajesh Talwar should be arrested and he should seek fresh bail. [caption id=“attachment_243761” align=“alignleft” width=“380” caption=“The Talwars have been granted temporarily relief by a Ghaziabad court.”] [/caption] The bail granted to Rajesh Talwar by the Supreme Court has been extended till April 11, when the next hearing will take place. The trial of Aaurshi’s parents begun at a Ghaziabad court earlier today. The 13-year-old was found dead in her home in Noida in May 2008 and her dentist parents, Rajesh and Nupur, have been accused of her murder. The Supreme Court had earlier turned down Aarushi’s parents’ plea to shift the trial to a Delhi court last week. The trial in the twin murder case began amidst tight security after the Supreme Court asked the CBI and Uttar Pradesh administration to provide adequate security to the Talwars.
