Cops nab 'Psycho' Shankar 5 days after jailbreak

After a massive manhunt, Bangalore Police today arrested absconding serial rapist and killer Jayshankar alias ‘psycho Shankar’ from the Kudlu Gate area of the Electronics City after he managed to escape from a high security prison. Shankar had escaped by scaling 30-feet high walls of the Bangalore central jail exposing loopholes in the prison security, Ibnlive  reported. Police sources had confirmed that only five of the 27 CCTV cameras in the jail were working. Duplicate keys were found in the garden of the jail, where psycho Shankar seemed to have dropped them as he made his dramatic escape raising the question if he had help from an insider,” the  report said. Security at the central prison in Parappana Agrahara has been under the scanner as there were internal reports of a tussle between the lower grade jail guards and senior prison officials. The six guards who were on duty at the jail hospital, where Shankar was being treated, were sleeping on Saturday night allowing him to slip away.
