Radhakrishnan Nair, the managing editor of CNN-News18, passed away at the age of 54 early Tuesday due to health reasons,

During his tenure, he held many key positions at the organisation. Nair ventured into business news with CNBC TV18, a business channel, following which he moved to _CNN-News18 (_formerly CNN-IBN) in 2005 and took over as the managing editor of the national news channel in September 2014. Nair started his career with UNI in Kerala and then moved to Delhi. His stint with TV news began in 1995 with TV18. Nair also produced programmes for Doordarshan, BBC, Sony and Asia’s first business channel ABNI. He was a chemistry graduate and a gold medallist in Journalism from the Indian Institute of Journalism in Thiruvananthapuram, who also held a Master’s degree in Communication and Journalism from the Kerala University. Condolences poured in for Nair on Twitter with Union ministers Arun Jaitley and Suresh Prabhu also expressing sorrow over his untimely demise.
