Chittoor: Cops battle with BJP leader's killers; one dead

An ongoing encounter between suspected terrorists and police in Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh has claimed the life of one policeman and left another injured. The militants suspected to have been behind the murder of Tamil Nadu general unite secretary V Ramesh are said to have been holed up in a building in Chittoor, reports CNN IBN. The channel further reports that the same people might be the ones to planted a bomb during LK Advani’s Rath Yatra in 2011. Times of India reported sources as saying, a special investigation team of CB-CID picked up Fakruddin, a suspect in earlier acts of terror in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, last night from an undisclosed location. After getting information from Fakruddin, a police team was sent to the house  in Andhra Pradesh where another suspect Bilal Malik was hiding. Meanwhile, Times of India quoted a police officer as saying “We suspect there are explosives in the house. So the team has restrained from using heavy fire power.” V Ramesh was hacked to death in front of his house in Salem on 20 July.
