PTI[/caption] The site attendance.gov.in, which is still under construction, will be designed on the same lines as attendance sites of Jharkhand government and the Department of Electronics and Information Technology. Like the Jharkhand website, this site will give the total number of employees present everyday, graphs on “real-time attendance” and statistics on the percentage of people logging into office during different time slots. A search for any registered employee will give complete details and also the employee’s attendance/leave status. What is interesting is that the public have access to all this information, increasing the transparency in the system. “This level of open tracking takes transparency to another level, a key focus of this government,” said an official as quoted by Indian Express. PM Modi sent a directive to introduce an Aadhar-based biometric attendance system and this site will be fed data from this system. Employees will be given a 6-digit unique code having either the first three or last three numbers of their Aadhar number. All the data will be maintained centrally. Right now, the website has 16,000 registered users belonging to 113 organisations. The Planning Commission has the highest number of registered users, currently. To register their organisation on the website, the nodal officer nodal officers of the department/organisation must log in the website and create master lists of locations, designations and divisions in their offices. After this, the employees can register their respective unique IDs.
